BS1 02 – Already Famous
Not really famous per se, but we found an unexpected claim to fame!
I’m not really sure if that’s a good thing, or a bad thing … anyway, in speaking with another Catalac catamaran owner who had questioned if we were aware of any good rigging companies in Florida that we could recommend, I remembered that I had the name of the rigging company Jim had used. When I located the website and looked them up I was surprised to see our catamaran featured in pictures just a quarter down the front page under the heading A Look at Our Work in Action – and there is even a little bit of video!
Okay, so it’s not like our girl is the newest modeling sensation, but hey, this is our claim to fame damnit! Sort of. Not that anyone would know it was our catamaran, besides us, and them. Whatever. #pout
Anyway, now that I’ve knocked all of the wind out of my own sails on that subject, what I really wanted to share this week is our continuously growing progress list, and, I’m just going to apologize right up front for this one. Sorry everyone, my bad. It’s an actual list. Complete with little check boxes, and little noted indicators in parenthesis on items in progress. Which was actually un-requested and a very thoughtful, helpful addition, if I had needed more than just a list.
To be fair, I asked William to help me compose a comprehensive list of all the jobs/projects we need or want or have to do, regardless of whether a project has already been completed or not, because I wanted to capture everything in a spreadsheet with nice task oriented indicators for projects in planning, in-progress, & completed status’. Bless his heart he’s a man, so he only faintly heard the part about a list and what it was for, and then he tried to be helpful by building it out the best he could. Can’t fault a man for trying.
My thought to the whole process was that, well for one, it’s very hard to relay to everyone who isn’t with us every hour of every day, the true extent of the amounts of thought, planning, preparation, and work that actually goes on. Every day, in the background, even while we never really post about it or explain things, work is underway and things just seem to magically get done. As if little fairies visit overnight and do all the work!
Also, we realize we were not the best with keeping everyone in the loop about what was happening with Wind Dragon, and because of that mis-communication, the impression was made that we were doing nothing and had dropped the ball on our plans. Then, when we later lost Wind Dragon to the hurricanes, we let the subject die along with her story. Recently some very rude, disrespectful, and quite unintelligent comments have been made yet again in regards to our previous vessel. We hope the posting of this list will remedy any mis-communication issues of this sort going forward.
We apologize in advance for items listed which may appear repetitive, but which in fact are not. This list is in no way conclusive and continues to be added to and updated at any time as we continue to gather our thoughts and attempt to record our progress notes as accurately as possible.
Without further adieu, here is the List
Eventually, I will revisit this post and update the link to reflect the spreadsheet as I had initially intended, but for now this will do just fine. My sincere thanks to William for his hard work. Separate posts regarding the details of many projects already in-progress or completed will be forthcoming soon.
Until next time y’all, fair winds and following seas!
